No Plastic November 2020: Accessibility & Sustainability
It's almost that time of year again
Since Groundswell was founded in 2016, we have welcomed over 1,000 women to their healing, their power, and their belonging in mother oceans waves together. This has been made possible thanks to #NoPlasticNovember participants and donors helping spread the stoke for healthy waves and women!
This year’s theme is Accessibility & Sustainability
The plastic pollution ocean conservation conversation has historically been dominated by white, middle to upper-class coastal dwellers. During an election year, now more than ever, it is vital that we do our work to overcome barriers and welcome accessibility and sustainability to diversify the conversation. We know that real change happens when all voices are included, educated, elevated, and celebrated. So this #NoPlasticNovember we are collaborating with our partner local orgs that directly work with BIPOC, inland, and immigrant communities so we can learn from each other, overcome barriers together, and get creative with saving what we love...mother ocean!
How the 2020 #NoPlasticNovember challenge works:
1. PLEDGE:
Join as an individual, company, team, or organization and commit to giving up one type of single-use plastic for the 30 days of November.
2. SHARE
Using our anython.com platform easily share your commitment to healing Mother Ocean and invite your family and friends to join you by donating $1 or more for every day that you complete your plastic-free commitment.
3. EMPOWER
Each dollar donated goes to support equal access to Groundswell surf therapy and ocean conservation programs that heal, empower, and unite women in the waves together.
All #NoPlasticNovember members will receive a Plastic Free Welcome Kit full of discount codes for some of our favorite ocean-friendly brands, opportunities to win ocean-loving goodies throughout the month, and you can join us for our weekly Plastic Free Support groups with guest speakers sharing their tricks and tips for ocean-friendly living plus self-care practices to support you in your work towards deeper self-love and sea-love!
The Plastic Pollution problem can seem overwhelming...but together we can each make small changes that will make a huge groundswell of change for women & waves!
