Groundswell Surf Therapy™ Retreat: Jamaica


Our classic Surf Therapy program in retreat form is built to support you in developing your own sustainable ocean practice. You will be with the same facilitators, volunteers, and fellow participants for the week where you will be met where you are at and invited to explore integrated therapy and surf goals that include: building resilience, power & voice, mindfulness, gratitude, self-identity, trauma recovery, and healing our relationship with self, others, and the sea while also deepening your knowledge of the ocean, waves, equipment, swimming, and surfing. You will have weekly homework, videos, and partners to practice and incorporate what you are learning in our weekly sessions together to create your own unique surf practice and to ride these waves of life.

  • 1 week of intensive Surf Therapy

  • No surf experience is required

  • All surf gear is provided

  • Open to women, men, & non-binary folks

Waves of Excellence Partners are Providers that have completed the highest level of Trauma Informed Surf Therapy Training and are accredited to facilitate Groundswell Surf Therapy™ Model Programs, receiving ongoing supervision.

 

Meet the Facilitators

The program is hosted by a Surf Therapy Facilitator, a licensed therapist, and a Surf Safety Facilitator, a certified surf instructor. Each facilitator’s goal is to maintain the utmost highest level of physical and psychological safety for all participants, so they can dive deep in the waves, surf, wipe out and keep paddling out again.
