A Wave of Benefits: Why Surfing?

Surfing is more than just a sport; it’s a way of life that offers numerous benefits, especially for youth. The unique combination of physical exercise, nature immersion, and the joy of riding waves can lead to significant improvements in both mental and physical health. Surfing helps to develop strength, balance, and coordination while also providing a therapeutic experience that can reduce stress and anxiety.

Partnering with Groundswell Community

Our partnership with Groundswell Community Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to using surf therapy as a tool for healing and empowerment, ensures that our program is guided by experts in both surfing and mental health support. Groundswell’s experienced instructors and facilitators are trained not only in teaching surfing skills but also in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every participant feels valued and encouraged.

Program Details: Eight Exciting Classes

The “Surf Classes for Youth” program will feature eight classes, each designed to cater to different skill levels and interests. Whether your child is a complete beginner or has some experience in the water, our program offers something for everyone:

  3. Advanced Surfing: For those with more experience, aiming to refine skills and tackle more challenging waves.

  4. Surf Fitness and Conditioning: Emphasizing physical fitness and exercises that improve surfing performance.

  5. Ocean Safety and Awareness: Teaching participants about ocean conditions, safety protocols, and environmental stewardship.

  6. Surfboard Care and Maintenance: Educating on proper care and upkeep of equipment.

  7. Mindfulness and Surfing: Integrating mindfulness practices with surfing to enhance mental well-being.

Building a Supportive Community

Our classes are not just about learning to surf; they are about building a community where young people can grow, support each other, and develop a lifelong love for the ocean. Through our partnership with Groundswell Community Project, we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing space for all participants, promoting mental well-being, and fostering a sense of belonging.
